ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we have explored several power allocation (PA) techniques for visible light—nonorthogonal multiple access (VL-NOMA) communication systems. A systematic and state-of-the-art study of PA techniques have been presented to enhance the performance of communication systems in terms of the received signal strength that results improved throughput, bit error rate (BER), etc. To enhance the received signals strength directly at the end users, the PA techniques have been employed to solve the potential challenges of future-generation communication systems. Further, to solve the problem of overall accomplishable data-rate and user-fairness, a potential framework has been presented with different power allocation techniques for VL-NOMA communication systems. We also discuss and provide solutions to the problems encountered. We then compare all the techniques in terms of the user fairness, total achievable data rate, power level in the channel, algorithm, decoding order, optimally power, and channel to the users.
