ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a Two-Stage Repair–Full Refund Warranty Policy Analysis for an Advanced Remanufacturing-To-Order System for Sensor-Embedded Products (SEPs). The goal of the proposed approach is to determine how to predict a Two-Stage Repair–Full Refund warranty period for the disassembled components and remanufactured products using the sensor information on the age of every end-of-life (EOL) retrieved products on hand to meet remanufactured product and component demands while minimizing the cost associated with warranty and maximizing manufacturer’s profit. Different simulation scenarios are explained, and a case example is presented for illustration of the model applicability.
