ABSTRACT

In today’s conditions, companies need to have effective supply chain management to achieve a competitive advantage. One of the most important steps in supply chain management is the selection of suitable suppliers. Since suppliers are evaluated according to the specified criteria, the supplier selection problem is a multi-criteria decision-making problem. To present a livable world for future generations, it is important to be concerned about the environment in these activities. In this study, the problem of supplier selection to make green purchases in a five-star accommodation business that has an ISO 14001 certificate is discussed. The criteria to be considered — together with the purchasing specialist of the hotel — have been determined. To choose the best supplier among the alternatives, the Analytical Network Process is used with BOCR criteria — benefit, opportunity, cost, and risk. In this multi-criterion decision-making problem that has four main and 14 sub-criteria, the most suitable supplier is selected among the three, considering their environmental sensitivity in the purchase of cleaning materials.
