ABSTRACT

As treatment toxin doses are usually minimal, the delivery process has to be delicate enough to match the subtle difference in doses that are delivered. However, while there are a lot of variables in the process of toxin injection, most of the teaching and training focuses on the number of units and points of injection. Traditional toxin injection techniques involve the delivery of toxin as a simple spatial arrangement in several points with a specific number of units; modern toxin injection techniques adopt more personal variations and individual tailoring. The injector's preference for positioning to one side or the other of the patient has an impact on aesthetic toxin injections. In work requiring symmetry, the posture of injection becomes important because most of the injections proceed via oblique needle insertion. Structural asymmetries due to pathological or traumatic causes should be treated with structural reconstructive procedures.
