ABSTRACT
This chapter analyses the trends and dynamics in environmental and natural resources research in the research centre of an emerging economy with the aim to analyse contributions and strategies to improve the research process. Academic production was reviewed from the documents published by country, the journals where it is most published and analysis for each of the research topics based on the construction of a series of search algorithms for world publications in the most recognized databases, such as Scopus and WoS. With this information, a categorisation and bibliometric analysis is carried out that makes it possible to show which are the research topics for each line with their respective level of development for which different software and codes were used that were specifically programmed for this study. The findings of this study allow evaluating the level of research and possibilities to drive new research according to international trends and requirements of countries. Moreover, it determined the importance of a research centre in the generation of new knowledge related to environmental and natural resources in a biodiversity country.
