ABSTRACT

Currently, there are several processes during which high-stable water - hydrocarbon emulsions are formed. These include heavy pyrolysis resin emulsions formed during the extraction and preparation of highly viscous oils and natural bitumen; sludge, emulsion cleaning and decomposition of cutting fluids. At the petrochemical, oil-producing, steel-rolling and metallurgical enterprises of Russia annually produce about 40 million tons of liquid and solid waste oil, in general, in the world, the volume of their formation reaches hundreds of millions of tons. This article reviewed the classic and non-classical methods of processing such raw materials.
