ABSTRACT

The advent of personalized healthcare, digital medicine along with digital therapeutics, and the push towards real-world outcomes at a per-patient level has allowed many populations to receive a new standard of care, either immediately or in the pipeline. Apart from traditional remedies, even food habits are laced with local beliefs. In India, religion, deep-rooted cultural nuances, and superstition are amongst many factors that influence decision-making. Dietary choices are very varied, with food a big deal for most. Certain religious practices affect disease control and more so for these three billion, for whom religious and cultural biases play a more significant role: for instance, the month of Ramadan witnesses many people worldwide fasting for almost 12 hours a day. Digital Therapeutics and Biopharma work together in several areas. While software may be eating the world, the software is most definitely making waves in the medical device industry.
