ABSTRACT

Digital Twin implementation started approximately a decade ago with the proposal for next generation fighter aircraft and NASA vehicles. Building Information Modeling is a technology that serves as a flexible platform open to integrating nD data and other technologies to create, share, and use information throughout the project and building lifecycle. The research tendency in the Internet of Things (IoT) subject has considerably aroused in recent years. The number of research documents about IoT research in architecture, engineering, construction, operations, and facility management (AECO/FM) industry has risen considerably, starting from 2015 to date. Smart and intelligent production systems can be realized with Industry 4.0 opportunities to increase efficiency. IoT integration on Digital Twin can boost the performance of the physical system. Twinning the virtual information model with real-time data may significantly help in decision making during each phase of the whole building’s lifecycle.
