ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book seeks to analyze and investigate the contribution of ecofeminism to sustainability, and considers in this context the relationship of gender issues with environmental degradation and conservation with the current development model as well as with the violence suffered by women and the environment. It investigates the relationship between sustainability and gender equity based on human rights, its aspects of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and its impact on the population of greatest socio-environmental vulnerability. The book analyzes the connection between sustainability, climate change, and human rights and discusses the expansion of concepts and concerns about current environmental issues. It discusses the role of the indoor environment of a house in terms of energy, health, and temperature. The book also discusses urban mobility in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, which are the most economically advanced and populous countries in South America.
