ABSTRACT

The research is the result of activities carried out by the Department of Architecture of the University of Naples “Federico II” within the collaboration agreement with the Department of Civil Protection – DPC and the Network of University Laboratories of Structural Engineering – ReLUIS.

The research aims at outlining strategies of semi-temporariness for post-earthquake interventions in Italian historical centers, through the critical updating of housing functional-spatial, technological and environmental requirements of post-emergency procurement, in order to introduce elements of “urban” quality in post-disaster settlements. The semi-temporariness approach is oriented to the restoration of the involved communities everyday life conditions, through the realization of micro-neighborhoods from the aggregation of standardized, hi-performance housing modules.

The activity has therefore focused on the drafting of performance-based guidelines for the design and implementation of such systems and, therefore, in the verification of the defined criteria through design simulations carried out in BIM environment within university courses.
