ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes the increased complexity of the AEC (Architectural, Engineering and Construction) design projects today. Many new simulations and studies are required during the development process in order to achieve feasible solution. Sometimes different approach is required for each issue in the large variety of possible technical complications.
For evaluation of the presented in this paper simulations and their design impact, was used data collected from over 60 respondents. Each of the surveyed professionals are architects or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) engineers involved in the design and construction process in Bulgaria. The data was gathered by the author during occasional interviews with each of the involved persons.
Using simple analytical methodology the paper aims to present and assess the different types of simulations and how to address the necessity for fast BIM (Building Information Modelling) process.
