ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides a discussion of many of the most predominant of those organizations, and those institutions that have had the greatest impact on building occupational hygiene capacity globally. It outlines a broad variety of capacity-building projects in Occupational Hygiene (OH). The book reviews some detailed experiences of occupational hygienists working abroad, or working on special global OH topics. It describes occupational hygiene professionals with several years of experience who are interested in extending and broadening their careers with philanthropic work abroad. The book provides a good representation of many of the global Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) organizations collaborating and working together to expand the capacity of OSH, there remain numerous organizations. It provides models for future collaborative projects in occupational hygiene by showing ongoing successes.
