ABSTRACT

Vegetable crops are majorly affected by pathogenic fungi, bacteria, virus, oomycetes and nematodes. Management of these diseases through biocontrol agents will provide an eco-friendly environment and also helps in maintaining healthy microflora in the soil ecosystem. The important biocontrol agents used in plant disease management include fungi, bacteria, actinomycetes, mycorrhizal fungi, viruses, protozoa, etc., among them, fungal and bacterial antagonists especially species of Trichoderma, are most widely used against plant diseases.
