ABSTRACT

Cannabis sativa, one of the earliest known domesticated crop plants, is a source of many valuable natural resources and has been used as food, fuel source, nutritional supplement, building material and medicine. In the burgeoning hemp industry pests and other biosecurity risks remain poorly researched. This chapter explores the selection of common and highly deleterious arthropod pests known to infest Cannabishemp crops in the United States of America. Some species like the Hemp Russet Mite Aculopscannabicola are a major threat and lack established treatment protocols. The following information should serve to supplement existing integrated pest management practices globally.
