ABSTRACT

In Morocco, agriculture is considered to be an important sector for economic and social development. The main produced crops (tomato, pepper, berries.) have been facing the introduction and/or resurgence of different pests that shaped the integrated pest management program in the country. During the last two decades, the IPM strategy has significantly progressed in Morocco. This chapter describes the current status of key pests of vegetables (B. tabaci, T. vaporariorum, T. absoluta, T. urticae, A. lycopersici, F. occidentalis, T. tabaci) and the control strategies adopted by Moroccan growers. Indeed, the national regulations regarding biological control agents (BCA) and the side effects on natural enemies were discussed in addition to details of all involved partners interactions. Finally, the challenges and constraints were formulated to improve vegetable production under IPM strategies in Morocco in the future.
