ABSTRACT

Reading and writing are two of four language skills that must be mastered by learners. As reading and writing are related, the learning of writing and reading should be integrated. The aim of this article is to discuss the strategy, tools, and the implementation of an integrated model of teaching learning of writing and reading in Industrial Revolution 4.0, focusing on innovation and the use of information, Internet, and technology. This model also focuses on reading skill in the classroom so that students are able to use the insights that they have gained to improve their own writing skills. Theories of integrated reading and writing in the teaching–learning process are reviewed and discussed in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Then, an implementation of teaching–learning for integrated learning of writing and reading is proposed.
