ABSTRACT

Educationists demand that teachers promote students’ problem-solving skills as one of the important 21st-century skills. Success or failure in learning a second/foreign language might be associated with individual differences in problem-solving skills and reasoning. Individual personality, for example, extroversion and introversion, might also be a factor in problem-solving skills among students. They therefore need to be treated based on their individual differences. Extrovert students have social, active, and optimistic personalities. This article is a library study discussing ways to promote extrovert learners’ problem-solving skills in learning a language. It examines efforts to foster extrovert learners’ problem-solving skills in the ELT classroom in the literature.
