ABSTRACT

In the present curriculum, English language teaching in the Indonesian schools aims to develop the student’s four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in the target language and promote the acquisition of values. In addition, in response to the demand of Industrial Revolution 4.0, the language teaching also facilitates the acquisition of Industry 4.0 skills. The learning materials which are now in use at schools generally focus on the promotion of language skills and values only. For that reason learning materials with tasks that facilitate the development of language skills and the attainment of values and Industry 4.0 skills must be created. This article presents how to design such tasks. First, the skills that the students must learn are discussed and then how to integrate Industry 4.0 skills in the learning tasks is presented. The promotion of Industry 4.0 skills are integrated in the learning task components, particularly the task input, procedure, and setting.
