ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to find out the perception of students toward higher-order thinking skills (HOTS)-based learning in West Nusa Tenggara. Since students have a variety of skills and abilities such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and many others, these abilities certainly need to be obtained by optimal training and learning. HOTS comprises the learning activities that emphasize several aspects. HOTS will help the students to develop themselves through project-based learning and also critical thinking skill practices. HOTS learning is carried out in various regions, one of which is West Nusa Tenggara. The subjects of this study were six students from six schools in West Nusa Tenggara. This area was chosen to find out the perception toward HOTS learning applied in those schools. This research used qualitative methods and concluded that HOTS learning needs to be optimized continuously by teachers and educators.
