ABSTRACT

Education 4.0 has emerged as a result of Industry 4.0 demand. It allows students to not only acquire language knowledge and skills but also develop competence in how they obtain language knowledge and skill. In blended learning, especially the flipped classroom model, students learn the materials in their home with the help of information and communications technology tools and practice what they have learned in school. Students can do the practices if they have learned the topic given at home. The environment where students are trained to manage their learning during the process of the flipped classroom model fosters students to create self-regulated learning. Hence, this article aims to discuss how the flipped classroom model of blended learning fosters students’ self-regulated learning. It reviews education 4.0, self-regulated learning, blended learning, and the flipped classroom, and discusses how the flipped classroom model of blended learning fosters self-regulated learning.
