ABSTRACT

There are many information and communication technology (ICT) resources that can support English learning but most of them have not been utilized in classrooms, and some teachers have problems employing the technology in their classrooms. The TPACK framework provides insight for English teachers to optimize three aspects for education: technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge. This article reviews the implementation of the TPACK in Indonesia, especially in ELT. The knowledge and skills of technology, pedagogy, and content should be possessed and mastered by EFL teachers if they plan to incorporate ICT resources and use them relevant to the conditions in Indonesia. One of the ways to introduce the framework is by conducting courses or workshops to allow teachers to have competencies to integrate TPACK component and enhance classroom teaching and learning activities.
