ABSTRACT

Collocation marks the richness of languages in terms of vocabulary. However, it is one of the main challenges encountered by EFL vocabulary learners. In this article, the literature review finds it difficult to provide an easy and exact definition of collocation because it is a very polemical term. Despite the general role of a dictionary in teaching and learning vocabulary, apparently; students today prefer online dictionaries to the printed ones but its use remains problematic. This article aims to study the way EFL teachers can use online dictionaries in teaching English collocations. To teach effectively, the learner-centered approach with collocation-technology oriented tasks should be applied to overcome the aforementioned problem. This article includes both teachers and students as the ones who deal with English vocabulary in their daily lives.
