ABSTRACT

The study of transient transmission lines (TLs) is as important as the study of TLs in steady-state. In this direction, Chapter 5 mainly focuses on this study. The study of transient TLs is as important as the study of permanent TLs. In this sense, Chapter 5 mainly focuses on this study. This chapter begins the traveling wave equations on the TL. After transient analysis focuses on reflections on a discontinuity, the reflection and refraction coefficients at resistive, inductive, and capacitive endings and the Bewley lattice diagram are presented. Simulations of lightning and switching using ATPdraw conclude the chapter.
