ABSTRACT

Science and technology are concepts that have been recognized as important drivers for social and economic progress and as vital elements for providing solutions about how to eradicate poverty, and, in the present day, they are being considered in the transition toward a sustainable world. Science, defined as the careful study of the structure and behavior of the physical world, has been combined with many kinds of tools for practical purposes based on a set of principles, laws, and methods for building new knowledge. Agriculture is the backbone of economies in nations of Asia, Latin American, the Caribbean, and Africa, with around 25 million people and their families dedicated to farming activities. To underscore the fact that the science and technology has greatly contributed to the development of human beings, the social, economic, and environmental balance for sustainable practices is promoted by almost all countries in the world.
