ABSTRACT

Microtechnology- and nanotechnology-based approaches have attracted great attention in drug delivery and targeting owing to the outstanding physicochemical properties of micro- and nanoparticles. The application of nontechnology in drug delivery and medicine has paved new pathways and opened many doors for providing a customisable and safer treatment option. This chapter discusses the properties, synthesis, characterisation, toxicity, biodistribution and applications of micro- and nanoparticles.
