ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the bottom-up modelling approach to investigate urban residential heating and cooling energy modelling. Existing bottom-up modelling methods and framework are briefly introduced. A case study in Chongqing, China, is devoted to demonstrating the simulation procedure and key concepts for residential building stock energy bottom-up modelling and addressing the issues of energy saving strategies under future climate and construction market scenarios. This chapter provides evidence of the effectiveness of energy policies to policymakers for future energy demand and carbon emission reductions.
