ABSTRACT

The circularity of the economic processes is one of the basic conditions of the inter/intra-generational solidarity. The low energy efficiency of the building stock is a key driver of urban heat stress and, as such, one of the privileged targets of energy and environmental policies. This chapter provides some economic and sociological premises of Circular Economy from the perspective of the Science of Valuation, as well as an overview of the main methods and tools for the urban-environmental valuation, in the prospect of the urban heat stress reduction policies supported by the Life Cycle Analysis/Assessment.
