ABSTRACT

Solar energy is one of renewable energy resources designed to replace more and more the energy produced with fossil fuels that have a negative impact on the environment. In order to ensure recovery of investments and even the obtaining of some benefits, the photovoltaic systems are designed to face these changes of the working conditions over long periods of time, but the part of their monitoring and maintenance, plays an equally important role. In addition, as environment plays an important role in PV system operation, availability of environmental data increases options in combining different data sources in order to build and train better models. The devices that are generating data used for processing by the monitoring system can be part of the PV system or can be distributed in the local or enlarged environment. The accuracy of localization depends on the monitoring system complexity and can include different technologies such as visual identification, video monitoring, signature identification, machine learning techniques.
