ABSTRACT

Chapter 1 documents the harsh reality of the advancement of global warming and its effects on the local and practical places where we live, an overview on the topic of climate actions and climate change and, lastly, an introduction of a new book series based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ten of the goals match up with ten books in this series of books. The book, Climate Actions: Local Applications and Practical Solutions, is based on the United Nations’ SDG of Informing Climate Action and documents the implementation of specific climate actions, described by a diverse set of authors from all over the world.

The authors’ individual stories, and documentation of peoples’ lives in this book, will connect you to the local places where they live, the stories of their lives, the design and implementation of their specific local and practical climate action solutions and, finally, their resilience to save their local and practical places.

Please note that there are truly an unlimited number of climate actions that can be implemented by individuals and groups alike. Even a small climate action can make a positive difference. The creation and implementation of practical climate actions can work to help save our local spaces and our ways of life.
