ABSTRACT

The world is experiencing tough situations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students all over the world began attending classes via online platforms as nationwide lockdown was implemented in many countries. This has led to the closure of many schools and universities as teachers and students are not being able to commute to the institutions. Hence with the increase in the use of internet-based services for distance learning and work, there has been a major update to software like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and similar applications, which has made significant improvements in user interaction for effective communication and enhanced productivity.

With the increased use of collaborative tools, there has been significant security challenges as well, e.g., Zoom bombing. Many other applications faced similar security threats and attacks, and developers had to take countermeasures to improve their software to protect their applications from further attacks. This measure is critical as if such attacks happen very frequently, then the chances are that users worldwide would stop using their software due to security issues. Hence the pandemic has seen IT industry booming to a great extent.
