ABSTRACT

Technological advancements have driven the management practices in organizations toward an approach which is data science driven. One of the emerging technological trends that has gained traction in the corporate world in a very little span of time is artificial intelligence (AI)-based hiring. Amid these complexities of technological challenges, it is crucial for the organizations and human resources (HR) managers to make informed decisions about of integrating AI-based applications to the already existing hiring processes. In this context, the objective of the present work is to explore factors that are influencing decisions about employing AI-based tools for hiring seems pertinent. Equally relevant is the assessment of the benefits and apprehensions as perceived by HR managers associated with AI-based hiring. Moreover, in the Indian context, studies dealing with application of AI in hiring are largely missing. The results identified important factors, benefits, and apprehensions associated with AI-based application in hiring. Thus, this chapter explores the ambiguous and contributes to the somewhat still elusive but inevitable nature of AI for the “future” of workforce hiring discussion.
