ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology has become an important factor in agricultural development. Nanotechnology is contributing to the development of fertilizers, pesticides, genetic engineering, and agricultural machinery. Pesticides are considered one of the most important fields in agriculture. The world consumes approximately six billion lbs of pesticides each year. The role of nanotechnology in pesticides is reducing the amount of pesticides consumed each year by the development of these pesticides into nanopesticides. By using nanopesticides the amount of pesticide used against pests will reduce and therefore the cost of crop production will reduce. Reducing of the amount of pesticide leads to a reduction in pesticide residues in food and therefore reduces the hazards of pesticides tohumanhealth.
