ABSTRACT
Nail unit surgery requires anatomic knowledge of the nail and its close connection to surrounding structures. Understanding this adnexal relationship will assist the physician in selecting a procedure that will result in the greatest likelihood of diagnosis and cure for a nail problem while providing the optimal functional and cosmetic result.
