ABSTRACT

In modern days, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been recognized as one of the most significant areas of future technology for academic and industry applications. The Internet of Everything is an uprising technology envisaged as a global network of machines and devices, capable of interacting with each other. This chapter presents recent trends of IoT technologies for the successful deployment of IoT-based products with real-time applications. In this review, various IoT real-time applications are thoroughly discussed which is related with healthcare applications. In healthcare paradigm, IoT-based technology enhances the quality of care, ease the end users with real-time functions, cost-effective approach toward health-care service providing, efficient telemedicine to cover remote areas, uses of IoT-based applications in pharmaceuticals, robotics, health economics, health insurances, effective policy making, and others. IoT-based healthcare services are the future of healthcare, which will assist the machine learning and artificial intelligence-based healthcare models. Finally, several possible technical and managerial challenges are studied with recent literature survey.
