ABSTRACT

A leader is considered best when he or she remains invisible till the aim is fulfilled, and the team members feel that it was all done by themselves. But leading the organization through the downpour requires special abilities. In addition to the traditional leadership characteristics and skills, being a resilient leader is found highly influential in the context dealing with unforeseen adversities and challenges. Recently, empirical researches focusing on resilient leadership is on the rise. The method used in the present chapter was review of relevant literatures identified from refereed papers published in scientific journals or books and other electronic sources. This chapter tries to understand resilient leadership and the various factors that contribute to resilient leadership. This also discusses the different strategies to foster leadership resilience for a better and productive organization.
