ABSTRACT

To manage and control virtual enterprises and the collaboration of businesses, existing concepts for business process management and modeling need to be adapted and extended. While most formal approaches to business process modeling consider only the control-flow perspective, it is essential in an inter-organizational context to link a task with the organization unit responsible for its execution. In this paper we demonstrate the application of theoretical concepts of using different modeling tools and modeling notations in order to visualize, to exchange, and to simulate business process models and organizational models developed within the project ArKoS by a real-life process from the construction industry.
