ABSTRACT

The usage of Grid Computing technologies in the field of structural dynamics enables to exploit the available distributed computing resources in order to tackle a realistic 3D dynamic analysis of high rise buildings, in a reasonable period of time. Notwithstanding, the development of a service-oriented architecture for structural dynamics presents several handicaps, due to the high volume of data to be exchanged. This paper focuses on the development and deployment of such a system, covering the topics of fault tolerance, security, data and task management and, as well as different design and implementation details.
