ABSTRACT

The definition and commercialisation of a pack of complementary or product/services demands the connection of both the industrial and commercial activities of enterprises from different sectors. Besides, it implies both collaboration and co-ordination on different activities or functions at different levels. One of these key processes is the so-called order promising process (OP) that consists when associated enterprises from different supply chains acquire a selling compromise with customers.

The present work identifies the factors that should be taken into account when modelling the OP process within a Supply Network (SN) context, as well as the impact that such factors have over the mentioned modelling. Then, an OP model for supporting the promise to be made to customer within the collaborative SN context is presented. Such a developed model contemplates different problematic scenarios associated to the OP such as the commercialisation of a product pack whose components could be delivered in both different dates and places, the possibility of using different types of availability for meeting customer’s orders (ATP/CTP/DTP), or the possibility of serving the order from different nodes of the network.
