ABSTRACT

The construction sector is one of the most important customers of the ceramic sector. Indeed, the on time and successfully finalization of construction projects is strongly influenced, among others, by the on time suppliers. The competitive environment is forcing ceramic companies to establish the customer satisfaction as a core competence. To this end, ceramic companies develop differentiated products such as the Product Pack (P-P). A P-P can be defined as a series of products that are complementary in its function and are sold as a single product. The P-P commercialization activities must ensure a rapid and reliable response to customer requests. In this context, the order promising (OP) process becomes crucial. This paper describes the main differences between the P-P OP process and the traditional one and proposes an architecture capable of managing all P-P order request characteristics of every network. The information flow among the different architecture modules is also presented.
