ABSTRACT

The results of SEM and MIP tests of specimens made of cement mortar, which were initially saturated with water solution of different concentration of the NaCl salt, are discussed. The theoretical research, which were carried out in order to estimate the influence of dissolved and precipitated salt on transport of heat and moisture in porous building materials is also discussed. A novel mathematical model describing coupled heat, moisture and salt transport is formulated. The computer code based on it was developed and verified against some available experimental data.
