ABSTRACT

The paper outlines the continued development of a module for the energy balance for a building that can meet the new requirements of the EPBD, European Building Product Directive, with a minimum set of climate and building parameters. The work is limited to the building as such and its impact on the need for heating and cooling. The goal for the work is to add a dynamic module to the calculation that can give relevant and reliable information on the influence of the non steady processes and the dynamic properties of the building on the loads and the energy use for heating and cooling. The basic feature of the calculation module has been described in Jóhannesson (2005). The main emphasis is put on the validation of the program according to European draft standard prEN 152265. Conclusions are drawn for the continued development but also on the principles of such validation.
