ABSTRACT

The interest of architects and building designers on energy saving and human comfort has strongly increased during last years as consequence of the Government actions addressed to these issues. This paper presents a discussion on the energy performances of wooden houses.

The first part presents a detailed analysis of the data recorded during one year: indoor air temperature and Relative Humidity are measured in a typical timber house located in the North of Italy.

A second session presents a discussion about the energy performance of building envelope preformed following the European Standard.
