ABSTRACT
Supplier selection is of great significance in establishing a powerful competitive supply chain. As a result, a scientific and rational method for supplier selection is one of the most important parts in supply chain management. This paper presents a new model based on entropy technology and its application in the Chinese telecom industry. First, we present a selecting-index system for telecom operators; then, by applying entropy techniques, a multiple criteria decision-making model is given. Finally, this model is shown to be effective by applying it in a telecom operator's equipment supplier selection to rank the suppliers in order of excellence.
