ABSTRACT

Management targets for product life cycle, such as quality, cost, time and so on, are becoming aims and cores of enterprise information system. Most of decisions in business process are made for optimizing these management targets. These targets are realized by many elements through designing, manufacturings selling, using and recycling in the product life cycle process. These elements form the Life Cycle Routines (LCR) for the management targets. In this paper, a new method of modeling product life cycle based on the theory of polychromatic sets is researched for optimizing the management targets. The LCR and the management targets are decomposed to hierarchy structures in detail and are represented to digraph models based on the polychromatic graphs, The contour matrixes are built to represent the logical relationships between the targets and the LCR elements. By the formalization reasoning on the model, the optimal LCR that satisfies the management targets could be got. So the decision for product life cycle can be made according to the optimal LCR. A case of single-use camera is studied to illustrate the proposed method.
