ABSTRACT

This paper describes collaborative commerce based on self-organization theory, viewing c-commerce as a multi-stage supply chain where every participant retains independent decision-making power. C-commerce possesses the features of a self-organization system and evolves towards stability with technological innovation and learning mechanism. Based on knowledge management, we establish a logical multi-stage model and simulate its self-organization process. The results show the gathering trend of particles and the increase of knowledge capabilities of units in c-commerce. We also discovered that the simulating result is similar to the replacing process of Logistic curves in technological innovation theory when the knowledge boundary is extendable. Finally we summarize this paper and provide directions for further researches.
