ABSTRACT
The deterioration of individual stones due to bacterial attack and the biological effects of algae, lichens, fungi and mosses were described in Chapter 8, Section 8,2. Larger plants – creepers, shrubs and trees – can have a more deep-seated disruptive effect on masonry.
