ABSTRACT

The analytical description of fluid motion by means of localized vortices is traditional for hydrodynamics, oceanology, plasma physics. Recently it was shown that alongside with the well-known kinds of localized vortices (e.g. Hill’s vortex), which are characterized by weak decrease of velocity field (as a power of the inverse distance from vortex center), the vortices with screening (or solitary vortices) may exist. In the latter case the velocity field vanishes exponentially. In this paper a new exact solution of hydrodynamic equation in form of solitary vortices is obtained.
