ABSTRACT
Numerical techniques have been well established as essential tools in the study of classical fluid dynamics for quite some time. For the study of the flow of rheologically complex fluids the picture is rather different. It is only relatively recently that one has seen the emergence of commercially available software packages specifically designed for this area. Even these have their limitations and there are many unresolved problems to tax the abilities of the numerical analyst.
