ABSTRACT

An X-ray microscope using bent crystals has been deve loped to investigate continuum and line radiation of laser produced plasmas in the range 0.3…1.0 nm. By optical contact of crystal wafers with spherical or toroidal glass surfaces two dimensionally bent crystals have been obtained. To fulfil the Bragg condition for selected X-ray lines, aberrations of spherically or toroidally bent crystals were calculated for Bragg angles of 45°…89°.X-ray images of a counterstreaming Al-plasma for the lines w 1-n (n=2,3,4), which have been obtained with a three-channel microscope, indicate population inversion between levels n=4 and 3.
