ABSTRACT

The results of a photoluminescence (PL) study of Hg0.7Cd0.3Te at high excitation levels are reported. Bulk samples as well as superlattices (SL) with Hg0.7Cd0.3 Te-wells were investigated at moderate and high excitation levels. For both kinds of samples excitonic and electron-hole plasma (e,h) transitions were identified. Optical gain spectra have been obtained from emission spectra under the variation of the excitation stripe length.
